Weather Permitting

Weather Permitting is a creative research group that investigates weather and climate change at the intersection of arts and sciences. An interdisciplinary collaboration, Weather Permitting is conducted by Jennifer Gabrys and Kathryn Yusoff, who have combined experience in creative practice, geography, environmental studies and digital media.

Weather Permitting works across different outputs, including articles and books, objects and events. In undertaking Weather Permitting research and practice, they have undertaken fieldwork in locations as diverse as the Arctic and Antarctic, the Singapore Zoo, and the National Snow and Ice Data Center in Boulder, Colorado.

Weather Permitting is currently focusing on the “survival practices” that emerge in attempts to mitigate or respond to climate change, including geo-engineering.
